Karen Rothdeutsch graduated with a BFA in Photography from SUNY New Paltz in 2021. Her current work is centered around themes of memory, aging, and loss, as she explores her fear of death and loss of self. She has primarily been photographing elderly men and women, and speaking with them about stories from their lives. She is interested in how they are able to appreciate their memories without dwelling on the past, allowing them to live more happily in the present.
